Afternoon All,
To celebrate 50 years of preservation, the Bluebell held a special Gala over last weekend. I went along on the Saturday, exactly 50 years to the day since public passenger services commenced.

As is usual, a wonderful collection from you Ron, I wonder though when you took those photographs back in 1972, did you ever dream that not only would so many South African locomotives return to the UK to museums in the future, but that you would be able to photograph NGG 16s on regular service ...

As an experiment, here's a picture of 12A No.1970 'Milly' at De Aar in 1972.
She was the shedmaster's pet engine and he made sure that she was always kept spick and span. Unfortunately, I have forgotten his name; can anybody remind me?
