Grahamstown Station yard and buildings are 142 years old. However neglect and vandalism are destroying this irreplaceable piece of SA's railway history. Meanwhile the sole surviving GDA locomotive continues to disintegrate outside the station. This should go to George where it could be cosmetically restored to a point and later on cladding etc could be added.

There is some progress on saving this heritage station building.
