Krugersdorp Station Building

Post by Derek Walker »

Metrorail seems to have had a surplus of yellow and gray paint available, and has had a go at painting Krugersdorp Station. This is the old station building, dated 1896. I have to admit that Krugersdorp station as a whole is really clean and well maintained.

This dolls house must be new. It certainly was not like that last year. I checked my video out to make sure

When I went through there last month on the Magalies trip they were busy painting the platform buildings and reroofing some of the waiting rooms, the building had been done already. They had also been painting at Roodepoort station too. (see below)

Roodepoort doesn't look too bad, but I'm afraid I feel a little ill looking at Krugersdorp!

A bit colorful perhaps, but it is clean and maintained! Better then tatty!

Metro should actually be commended for their efforts - they have been frantically repainting and then maintaining their stations - and as well as this really cleaning the station surrounds, gardening etc. This I have seen as I travel to work every day alongside one of the main Metro lines............

It is nice to see the effort being made. Along with the new business trains it indicates that they are taking the business seriously.

Strange that SARCC METRO is more public aware than its big boss TFR who actually own the stations in the land. Or did? Shows what semi private enterprise that cares, can do.
