Photos of Southern African Stations, Signals, Infrastructure and Miscellaneous railway items! Photos should be 800x600 pixels, maximum size 130K. Very good ones will be moved to the Online Gallery, the rest will be pruned away after 14 days to conserve space. I concur. A really super night shot, Allan. I note that the station name is given as "Simonstown", not "Simons Town" nor "Simon's Town". Which is the correct, official name? Which convention does the Post Office follow? Not that SAPO is necessirly correct, of course
My home suburb in Sandton, known everywhere else as "Fourways", the Post Office insists on spelling incorrectly as "Four Ways".

Is it not a model train layout? It is an awesome photo. Very well done.

Thanks for all the compliments. I have always thought it was Simons Town, when I look up the postal code its Simonstown so now Iam not sure. to the right of the picture are the sand dunes created by the wind blowing the sand up from the beach. A reinforced wall was built to hold back that sand.

No its the real deal. its the zoom that makes it look so small, I was about 1km from the station when i took it.

Metrorail has it as Simonstad (tickets) and on the timetables and most other Metrorail info it says Simon's Town.

What a setting. I vote the second photo as "photo of the month"
