between majiesfontein and laingsberg where are drivers changed with a goods train going back towards cape Town. our train was been pulled by 6E1 and the goods trains by class 14E locos.

between Kimberley and Klerksdorp we changed drivers in the middle of no where, also with a goods train but been pulled with class 18 locos

The flat front and the forward-facing door of the 14E almost make it look like an EMU.

Nice pictures. Now I'm sure that I prefer the old locos like 6E1 than the 14E's.

How many places are between Jo'burg and Cape Town where the crew of the trains change in the "middle of nowhere"?
Mayber I shall ask: How often change the crews the trains from Jo'burg to Cape Town until the trains arrives in Cape Town or Jo'burg?
I took some years ago also photos of a changing crew. I will present them later.

Very interesting. CTC will arrange to get the crew changes done as near to the time they are due as possible, so it could be almost anywhere in the section.
