Clean-up Campaign
Metrorail, Pikitup, Dept of Health, Commuter Forums and Hawker groups organised a cleanup campaign between Doornforntein and Park Station.
Rubbish like this can affect the switching
I also managed to take a few photos of units that crawled past us
But the rubbish was relentless
And in the breaks...
Now this was an interesting Shosholoza as it had two green coaches. Can anyone tell me why? The previous Shosholoza had two Premier Classe coaches in the middle.
And the last one
Enjoy

Hi Jerome,
When BJs was providing catering the dining and kitchen car were painted that green colour with BJ logos. When the contract ended the logos were removed but the coaches not repainted. I see the 36 in one of your photos was shunting steam heat cars, wonder whether they are getting ready to add them to the trains?

Cleanup long overdue! Disgusting to go through there when the whole place is full of rotten tomatoes. Where's the after pics? How does it look today? Situation will only improve if vendors stop using the embankment as a rubbish bin!

Re: Clean-up Campaign
It seems as if they had really much to do there. Maybe it is because of the coming Fifa World Cup that the railway will preent their stations cleaner?
And yes such a lot of rubbish in the switches will make them going into malfunction.
