Dave Rodger's kindly sent these pictures taken by Bob Green.

Bob Green is a very very talented photographer, so prepare yourselves for a treat as these are loaded up over the next few days......! There are a lot of pictures, but all worth looking at!

Dave wrote........

For the third year running Railway Touring Company have operated a week long steam-hauled tour across the length and breadth of Britain (6th - 14th April).

Starting in London the tour ran to Bristol and from Plymouth ran to Birmingham and over the northern Fells of Shap and Beattock to Glasgow. From there it ran to the east coast of Scotland to Aberdeen and Inverness before heading to Kyle of Lochalsh. From there is ran south via Inverness to Perth and Edinburgh back to London - steam hauled all the way using 7 different locos.

Planning for the tour was a nightmare due to loco availability/clearance issues and had to be re-routed via the Lickey Incline (1 in 37) due to a signallers strike (which was called off!).

The tour was blessed by good weather almost throughout and it is no small achievement to have operated such a complex tour with steam in 2010. It remains to be seen if there will be GBIV!

I didn't follow the train myself but my friend Bob Green saw most stages of the trip and a selection of his pictures are attached.

For starters........ a picture to wet your appetites!
