Just repainted too. Looks very classical - I wonder how old it is?

It looks like it was originally steam powered with a vertical boiler in the rear of the cab, is this the case and what powers it now?

If it's still there next Saturday I'll have another look and try and get some close-up pictures.

A few more pictures, taken by me this morning.

Unfortunately there are no manufacturer's plates visible, but I have ascertained that it was a steam crane which had its steam engine removed and replaced with an internal combustion engine. The engine has been temporarily removed for maintenance, which is why the corrugated iron roof has been displaced.

EAR No. 1013 Ordered by Crown Agents for the Kenya Uganda Rly., it probably ran as their No. 25.
Originally a hand crane of 20 ton capacity, on ten wheels, ( six fixed and four wheel bogie ) and built by Cowans Sheldon, Carlisle as works no. 4582 of 1927. There used a few years ago to be a plate on the rear of the cab noting the CS 4582 information.
Diesel conversion 1955; jib replaced / repaired / lengthened in ca. 1956 at Nairobi Workshops. Probably de-rated from 20 ton to 15 ton capacity at this time.
A couple of EAR archive photographs show it as a hand powered crane.
An amazing survivor to still be in working condition.
