Photos of Southern African Stations, Signals, Infrastructure and Miscellaneous railway items! Photos should be 800x600 pixels, maximum size 130K. Very good ones will be moved to the Online Gallery, the rest will be pruned away after 14 days to conserve space. If you have photos of FOTR Engines and Stock, please post them in the FOTR Gallery in the Friends of the Rail Forum above.

The JHB metro map (wits west) my wife lovingly downloaded and framed.
She also included the logo in the centre

It comes in 2 sections, east and west

There is some things about the map I don't understand e.g.
The line to Vereeniging via Meyerton indicates that it is a Spoornet line, but metrorail runs it's trains there. Also the line to Oberholzer via Midway. Germiston-Kwesne via Webber seems very confusing!
Any infomation?

Marc, I don't know the details of that line, but it's probably to do with who is responsible for the line, which in turn probably relates to who makes most use of it. In Pretoria somwhere near Pyramid or Bon Accord there's a sign by the trackside denoting the boundary between Metro and Spoornet (now TFR) responsibilities.

Seems crazy as metro is a subsidary of Transnet
