1. Electrification of our coaching stock. Here we see the conduit piping and junction box, currently being fitted to our rolling stock so that we can be prepared to run power at 220 volts. Fluorescent lighting in the form of two 4 foot twin globes, have been installed in each coach, and will be powered by a single source in the future. At present the urgency of the conversion was to enable our coaches to be coupled, power wise, to the Reef Steamers
set, as they run a diesel generator pushing out the 220 volts.
2. The newly installed 4 foot 220 volt fluorescent fitting, blends in very nicely with the original 32volt fittings installed by the old SAR. With the coaches being upgraded to take on 220 volts, this is how the interiors will look.
Work expertly carried out by John Ashworth, Steve Smith, Mike Haslam, Tom Macrery, John Madisha and Gabor Kovacs.
