Railway staff injured in train-lorry smash

Two Rift Valley Railways workers were injured yesterday in an early morning accident involving a lorry and a train. The lorry was headed to the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway from Magongo, when the driver attempted to cross Changamwe West level crossing and was hit by the train carrying fluorspar to Bamburi Cement factory. RVR eastern region manager Josiah Nyaragi said the lorry driver disregarded a stop signal issued by the station manager.
