ANGOLA-NAMIBIA LINK

On December 11, 2012 Railways Africa

According to Caminhos de ferro de Moçamedes (CFM) chairman Daniel Paxe, quoted by the Angolan news agency Angop, work may start during 2013 on constructing a new railway to link with the TransNamib system in Namibia. The line will run more than 300km southwards from Tchamutete in Huila province to the border with Namibia at Oshikango – terminus of the new Northern Line from Tsumeb. Tchamutete is the endpoint of a branch from Dongo junction, 500km from the Atlantic port Namibe on the CFM main-line.
