FotR would like to warmly welcome a new active member, Zane de Lange.

Zane, is an accountant by profession, and has indicated that he is interested in, to assist us with mechanical restoration and repair work on our locomotive/s, rolling stock and other equipment. He is also willing to assist with train duties, and in the future he too would like to join the footplate crew as well.

We wish him everything of the best and we hope to see Zane regularly at Capital Park and at Hermanstad, as and when time allows him to do so, and it's great to see younger generation of people slowly taking interest in FotR activities!

Thank you FOTR.
This is way better than spending time in the living room with a TV. The opportunities are endless and there is so much to learn.
I am feeling at home and everyone was friendly and help full. Thank you Gabor for showing me around and sharing your knowledge.

Regards
Zane

Indeed, welcome Zane. You will enjoy this hobby immensly I am sure. As you will quickly become aware, the possibilities are endless. From backroom (but vital) admin work like accounting, sales, marketing, website, etc, into on-board train hospitality and management, into operations as guard, train assistant, fireman and ultimately fully-qualified steam driver, not forgetting maintenance and restoration along the way --- the choice and paths to tread within FOTR are wide and are yours to follow. Grasp them fully and enjoy the ride to the fullest!

Welcome, Zane. It takes a lot of hard work and commitment, doing the tough and boring things as well as the interesting and exciting ones, and hanging in there even when things are not looking so bright, but it's well worth it.
