I'm sorry to have to tell you that both these two trips have now been cancelled because it has become clear this week that the [group organising the trips] had not been able to secure the necessary sponsorship. I am keenly aware that cancellations, especially late ones, are bad for public confidence...

However, there has been some progress as preparing for these trips meant that we focussed on getting a new logo, putting the wheels in motion to open a new bank account and purchasing ten hi-vis jackets. We have also had some encouraging meetings with staff in the carriage and wagon shop and it seems that KRC are taking the museum more seriously than in the recent years.

So despite this setback, which I regret very much, I remain hopeful that in 2015 we will see steam running with a focus on short trips aimed at the Kenyan leisure market working with established and commercially competent partners, which can then in turn be a base for more ambitious tours in the longer term.
