5th July - It's Our Open Day

When you come to a Friends Of The Rail open day you find yourself surrounded by history, fun and a sense of adventure.

Friends of the Rail invites you to a fun filled day at our Hermanstad steam train depot, Michaelson street, Hermanstad. Admire veteran cars and motor cyles dating from 1920 and a real, live, operating steam locomotive. Gates open at 10:00

For your children there will be a jumping castle, horse rides and face painting. Live music too. Braai fires will be provided. Browse bric-a-brac stalls and buy railwayana.

The entrance fee is only R20.00 per adult, children under 12yrs R10.00. You will get to view the veteran cars and enjoy the on-site facilities.

At 2:30pm, we will also have a "Tshwane Xplorer", a train trip of about 2 hours around Pretoria and if you wish to take this option, prior booking is essential. Entrance to the site is free if you book this trip.
