Coaches - composite brake blocks
Most of our vehicles use modern composite brake blocks. However two of our suburban coaches, 5919 and 5926, still have the old cast iron brake blocks. These are now very difficult to obtain, so we have begun modifying these two vehicles by exchanging their brakes with three of our unrestored suburban coaches.

- The brake block is on! Newly fitted composite brake block hangs slack after being fitted to one of the FOTR suburban coaches. Hopefully this will reduce the problem of using the older cast iron blocks. Split pins are set and opened; now we need to couple up and set the tension.
