Metro, sun and steam

Post by John Ashworth »

A Metro set catches the late afternoon sun as it approaches Koedespoort from Rissik, with steam drifting across the foreground from 3442, from whose footplate this photo was taken

Excellent shot - those electrics are difficult to photograph in an interesting way - part of the challenge.

Great pic John. I find it amazing that only 2 stations from Rissik (Hatfield) that it is semi-rural!

Very artsy crafsty pic. Well done. That area where the Motor coach set is, was a good place in steam days, to catch the LM Mail express racing up the last grades before shutting regulators at Rissik and then drifting down to Pretoria station. It is a wetland area and no development can take place there. There are also interesting shots to be taken from a local block of flats in the area.
