out of Pretoria station with the all stops Cullinan local. This train was
very popular especially amongst railway enthusiasts. The loco was Capital
Park depot's pride.
Today, this scene has altered somewhat, with earthworks being prepared for
the Gautrain. The underpass has been considerably widened. The coaching
stock was then in the SAR colours, so would look different today.
The steam haulage of trains over this same section still occurs on a monthly
basis, with Friends Of The Rail, operating their Tshwane Xplorer.
