A better look at the spiral.
Again also a diagram so you can orientate the pictures.
Photo 1 shows some of the spiral detail. Nothing special here - just common sense, a number of small sections (so the curvature can be adjusted), as well as use of ofcuts. The important thing to note is good solid construction.
As the spiral is constructed, the track is also laid - this enables the spiral and/or track to be adjusted to ensure clearance etc is adequate.
Photo 2. Just a general side side shot - not a good shot and a bit cluttered, but it gives you the idea.
Photo 3. One side of the spiral. Just to the left of the wagons is a two sided constriction near the switch/points. This is a section in place for the tunnel mouth which will be built here.
Photo 4. To the right of the spiral a few sidings will be laid on the wider area.
