Passing through George in June this year we had a compulsory stop at the Heritage Museum. My wife and daughter enjoyed there visit and did not complain when we returned to see the Outeniqua Choe Choe arrive back from Mossel Bay.A spotless 19D 3324 was in charge that day. A worthwhile visit if you in or around the George area.

Beautifully turnrd out locomotive. I especially like the blue trim. This is how heritage locos used to look in the late eighties when we thought everything was artificial since regular steam had come to an end. Little did we know that those were golden years too..
3324 was restored to mint condition at Germiston and used there on the coalstage shunt and other duties for a while around 1988/9. Eventually went to Millsite and Cape Town before going to Voorbaai.
Nice pics Stefan.

Thanx Chris for that information. I always enjoy knowing something about a Loco.

The loco is indeed spotlessly clean, however the blue trim doesn't really do it for me. I prefer the traditional white. Pity the coaches (the lead coach, at least) are not in the same spotless condition.
