What a lovely old building, Derek. Let's hope someone takes it over and provides on-going care so it doesn't suffer the same fate as so many stations in SA have already.

I believe there is talk that they want to start bringing main line trains through to Bethlehem again, when the trains left the town stopped. Whether that will ever happen is another story. My grandfather was posted here as a guard and we used to visit (by train naturally) and I have 8mm movies featuring this station.

According to the timetable the Cape Town - Durban Shos Meyl stops at Bethlehem.
