Saturday September 12, 2009 (p 9): There's a photo of a diesel loco nose down off the side of a bridge after it "collided with a lorry near the Kenya Ports Authority headquarters in Mombasa" on 11th September. "The train driver escaped injury by jumping out of the window".

Thursday September 10, 2009 (p 37): There's a picture of the railway line in Kibera uprooted yet again, this time with the headline Census 'elders' uproot railway in pay protest. The protesters had been enrolled as 'elders' in the recent census to guide enumerators to households and were protesting about "unpaid allowances". "Rift Valley Railway company fixed the damaged section within an hour" and "Train services had been restored by evening".

Also on September 10, 2009 (p 36), there's a story headlined High-speed rail system to cut cost of goods. Basically the title. referring to the proposed new standard gauge line, says it all.
