Mosel Bay to George gradients

Post by david marsden »

I was lucky enough to have a trip on the line from George to Mossel Bay a couple of years ago. The ride on the return trip up the long bank from Groot Brak River was spectacular to say the least. The train loco, 19D no 2749, was piloted by a 4-8-0, (I've done a separate post on this) and between them they handled the grades with consummate ease. But - I wonder if anyone can please supply a gradient profile for the line, or at least information on the gradients.

Welcome to the forum, David - your first post, I believe. May there be many more. I'm sure one of our online experts will be able to answer your query.
