Long row of electric locos

Post by Andreas Umnus »

Another impression when I travelled with the Trans-Karoo from Jo'burg to Cape Town.

I think this was still nearby Jo'burg where I took these two pictures of the electric locomotives.
Unfortunately was the mast in the way. Luckily the mast was just in the middle of the two parts of the picture,
so that the diesel and electric locos are clear to recognize.
In Germany the people write often in the forum "the mast must be" when there was no other possibility to get to a picture.

On the left the electrics, on the right the diesels.

Ten or eleven electric locomotives are waiting for the next job.

The front loco has a name plate in front so she must belong to some train, and that looks like Braamfontein yard to me.
Not quite on the rails.
Check out my train vids. http://www.youtube.com/user/nixops
