- The hills of Pretoria, dotted with jacarandas in full bloom, bear witness to the departure of 3484 and 3442. An interesting comparison of the tenders is possible in this view.

- It's jacaranda time in Pretoria again. To celebrate this, a Rovos NC doubleheader departs CP on her way to the Cape. The leading loco, the diesel burner 3484, failed later on near Pretoria station.
