Dave Rodgers latest report...............
On Wednesday 24th March I was invited by Andrew Neale (owner of newly restored Hunslet Edward Sholto) to a celebration at the private Statfold Barn Railway, near Tamworth.Â
The event marked the completion of the restoration of Edward Sholto (repatriated from the USA).Â
In addition, 3 other locos were in steam and working trains on the (mixed 2ft and 2ft 6in gauge) 3-mile round trip for invited guests - Fowler Saccharine, together with recently built Hunslet replicas Statfold and Jack Lane.Â
As a first time visitor to Statfold I was extremely impressed with the extensive and well equipped workshops and running shed as well as the extremely high standard of restoration achieved.Â
The weather was pretty overcast but the following pictures give a flavour
of the railway and some of the locomotives on site.........................

Does that bloke in blue with his back to the camera in the middle of the second photo look a bit like Steve Smith, body language and all? Steve, you haven't been sneaking off to UK when you should have been working on FOTR's 15CA, have you?
