6024 day after England failed to win their WorldCup match

Post by Steve Appleton »

This morning's Torbay Express leaving Bristol. 13 June 2010.
Pics by Richard Bell:
Having woken still in a state of shock at Bob Green's dismal goalkeeping (against USA) last night (12 June 2010), (and with a sizeable hangover), I decided that the best 'hair of the dog' would be a jaunt over to Bristol to renew acquaintences with 6024 in its last year on the Torbay Express.

A late decision made on the basis of a clear blue sky to the south (and a south westerly wind to bring it in), got me to Malago Vale just in time. As ever in Bristol, the blue sky remained to the south, but a 5 min late departure co-incided with bits and bobs of sun between Bedminster and Parson Street. Specifically for the long tele and standard lens. The medium tele which I wanted was not lit.

Experts from the other side of the Severn were in situ on the bridge before Parson Street, just before the real thick black came on through the station obliterating just about everything...but by then the sun had gone in again. And as far as I was concerned, I'd seen enough.

Note the utterly abysmal non-authentic headboard.
