Eerste Fabrieke to Greenview will be double-tracked

Post by Steve Appleton »

A special infrastructure report included with Financial Mail this week (25 June 2010) in dealing with PRASA, quotes Mr Lucky Montana as follows:

"We are in the implementation phase for the 5.5 km doubling of the line between Eerste Fabrieke and Greenview in Tshwane. This project also involves two new stations and access to the south of Mamelodi Gardens."

So, at last, the odd bit of single track section on the Pretoria to Rayton route is to go. Looking forward to the days when, on the Cullinan return trip, we at FOTR no longer have to wait for up to 20 minutes at Greenview for the Metrorail "taxis" to come and go through that section.
"To train or not to train, that is the question"

Good news for us, as you say, Steve, but also good to see PRASA building new stations in areas where the population has increased.
