Long Island Buffer Stop

It was strange to look over a wall topped by a wire mesh fence and see a newish-looking buffer stop seemingly in someone's back yard on Long Island. Braving the traffic to reach the other side of a large, complex and busy road junction I realised that we were actually standing on a bridge. The line is the headshunt from what appears to be a carriage shed on the other side of the bridge.
