Shosholoza Meyl a slowcoach, says CEO
The Shosholoza Meyl passenger train is too slow to be viable and should be allowed to travel at 160km/h between Cape Town and Johannesburg, the Passenger Rail Agency of SA said yesterday.
"Long distance passenger trains cannot run at 60 to 70km/h. It will never work. A hundred-and-forty to 160 km/h is possible on the current network," Prasa CEO Lucky Montana said.

At this point they can not even run at 70km/h average. With delays up to twelve hours. So how are they going to travel at those speeds. They should start at 110km/h and see how that goes first
