Excellent report, I think in my older years I'm getting a little more demanding in my creature comforts and reliable scheduling.
I was in Massawa on a ship in 1962 and could see some steam activity in the port area. I had no opportunity to take any photographs as a US ship was unloading "Toys" for the Ethiopian Government.
We had been commandeered as the Imperial Ethiopian Royal Yacht for the official opening of Assab further down the coast. The admiral of the navy, one of the Emporer's sons, was on board as he got sea sick on his aging WW2 US destroyer flagship. The Captain was presented with a medal by Hailie Sellasie for his services on arrival at Assab.
Interesting times.
