Dave Rodgers sent this pic through and said......

First evening 'steam fix' of the season!

Driver David Blair and Fireman Peter James bring No. 46115 Scots Guardsman to a stop in Platform 5 one minute early at York with last evenings Scarborough Spa Express - the first of the season. With 12 bogies (435 tons) having accelerated to 70mph by Colton Jct the train was inexplicably switched to the Leeds line then through the platform road at Church Fenton only to cross back onto the S & K route (as booked) presumably by a signalman wanting to test 10 sets of points or with a grudge against steam! Later, after torrential rain the long climb at 1 in 100/122 from Wakefield Westgate to Ardsley tunnel was superb and noisy bettering both the King, Duchess and Royal Scot in the 1948 loco exchanges even though they had slightly lighter loads!

Dave
