Re: Heidelberg Transport Museum

Hello all

I have kept 2 postcards since the mid/late 70's of the Heidelberg Train Museum as it then was - but have only just published them on my Flickr photostream, and in turn the Flickr Clerestory Group.

Re: Three coaches seen while passing by

Now having had a chance to visit in May 2013, there are actually 5 clerestory coaches here, all under cover in an "isolated" shed close by the main line (might have been interesting to see how they got there - was there a spur, or a very expensive road haul?

The long sides on each side are secure ...

Historic Coach on the West Rand + Rhodes & Directors' coache

carldasnevesvieira : That Florida coach is indeed the oldest in the country.
Hello Carlos and all

Do you know whether or not the coach originally had a clerestory roof?

It looks as though it would have been a balcony style coach, as a grounded body I can only assume. Do you have any further ...

Clerestory Coaches in South and Southern Africa

This is just to advise members that the Flickr "Clerestory Coaches (Railways)" group (of which I am admin) has been going for 6 months, achieving over 1000 relevant photos world wide (most of which have coaches as the main subject focus, though some are distant).

Whilst not in any way wishing to ...

Re: Historic locomotives run out of steam

Whats happened since 2011? This story looks frightening, not only for the Red Devil (another Glasgow built loco?), but for the many others, let alone rolling stock.

Is there a register of Locos and Rolling stock, available?

Re: White Train

I think there may be some stuff available at the UK's National Railway Museum "Search Engine" - but to research you really need to be there!

I guess I'm the nearest? So when I go, I'll add it to my list.

I would not worry about the activity too much. I am sure it will look up as new members get active.

The forum itself has plenty visitors and the peak for most on at one time occurred in january.

Facebook is no competition for a serious forum - it is day to social networking, with a lot of ...

So sad, I could cry, but then the work involved.....
