Thanks for those pics Aiden,

I visited her on the Saturday so these were extra special because now I could see her in action. Next week I will get to go on the train and I am looking forward to it and hopefully some good photography.

The trip I made had 3 day sitters, the refreshment/kitchen coach, a bar coach, 3 more day sitter/compartmented, the power/RS staff coach, water tanker and then the engine. I dont know if they used the same consist this time around.

I didn't count but I think this trip was 9 vehicles including the water tank. Not sure what the max load is. I did hear that the 12AR was rated at 2 trucks less than a 15F on the Witbank coal trains. Of course not as fast as a 15F but still a powerful locomotive.

I noticed over the last two weeks, when she came past my house, she seemed to struggle up Hamberg bank. Unlike the others that usually come flying by.

I also had a feeling she was struggling in a few spots, but it could be she was on some sort of schedule to miss the random goods trains that can cause stacks of delays. I do know that at certain spots they opened her up and she was hurtling along like a crazy thing. The first trip she made there was a bearing not quite running properly so I know they took it easy on the return trip, maybe the problem has occured again.

What do you mean she was towed back? I also hear that steam can now travel through Joburg station!
