Steam to Africa's southernmost station
South African steam operator Ceres Rail has advertised a novel three-day, steam-hauled enthusiast trip to Bredasdorp (the southernmost station in Africa) from March 31 to April 2, 2019. It is timed to operate a few days before the 2019 Stars of Sandstone Festival, which attracts visitors from around the world. North British-built Class 19D locos will be used.
