This could be the boiler from 5906.

what happened to the rest of 5906?

Lost in the mists of time, I suppose. By the mid-1990s as far as I know there were only two Class 59s left in Kenya, 5918 and 5930, both in the railway museum. I don't know why an extra boiler survived.
