Busy chartering season starts on 2 September
On 2 September we kick off with the a charter to Cullinan. About 11 sure charters are in the process of being finalised and we have about 40 quotations outstanding. I have set aside all the Saturdays and Sundays from 1 September to 16 December and all the Fridays from 1 November to 16 December as possible dates for year end function charter and corporate trains. In total 33 Saturdays or Sundays and 6 Fridays. We will take bookings for charters on other days of the week as well, but would like to concentrate on the dates set aside. I do not believe that Spoornet would allow us to run more than 1 train a day, which leaves us with a potential of 39 train trips of which 11 trips have already been booked, leaving us with 28 trips available. Bookings will be handled on a first come first serve basis. To avoid disappointment I am urging anybody interested in chartering or booking a private coach to act quickly.

Well done, Arno!
We must get the applications into Spoornet as soon as possible after the trains are confirmed with the clients to ensure that approval is confirmed in good time. Don't want any more last minute surprises.
So far as two trains on a day is concerned, I think that our own staffing could be hard pressed to handle two trains simultaneously. Maybe if we get two 'small' charters (only 2 to 4 coaches each) we could test Spoornet. Provided it does not compromise safety (and we wouldn't do that anyway) I cannot see why Spoornet should object.
