A railway enthusiast friend of mine has travelled from Ongata Rongai to Suswa on the standard gauge train. He enjoyed the experience, except that at that time it was impossible to buy a return ticket so he spent most of his 45 minute stopover in Suswa queuing to buy a ticket back to Ronga.
