Former steam pilot tug Alwyn Vintcent emerges from her refit at the V&A Waterfront. She is complete, although no longer in steam. Destination Australia.

Looks a damn side better! Pity no longer a steam tug. Australia?

Yep Australia. Will go back into full-time service there as a steam pilot tug. No one here was interested. SA's last remaining steam tug capable of being restored and no one bothered.

Dylan - although not a tug, do you know what happened to the Gamtoos?

I used to get very seasick on this vessel traveling in and out to Dassen Island.

Ex-HMSAS Gamtoos. Former salvage vessel in second world war. Became gauno vessel in later years. Sunk as SAAF target off Greenpoint.
