Locomotives; The Modern Diesel Reference is published by Boston Mills Press and is available best place)n from amazon.co.uk at around 31 pounds.
The book itself is large - page are 10 by 11 inches and number 240.
Basically it is a book US diesel fans have been waiting for - and it is badly needed.
It begins with a history of spotters guides and then goes into a model by model review of todays builders - GE, EMD, Motivepower, National Railway Equipment, Railpower and Alstrom. There is also a bonus chapter on electrics.
Each chapter summarizes the company concerned and includes pictures of it factories, diesels and details. This is followed by a review of each companies products since the mid 1970's.
Each model is covered in detail, also with superb full colour action and roster pictures - the cover below gives you the idea......
A must for US diesel fans and the first new book on this topic in years.....!
