Yesterday (Saturday) President-Elect Obama took a historic whistle-stop train ride from Philadelphia to Washington, D.C. to attend his own inauguration in the US Capital. He did so in honor of his hero, President Abraham Lincoln, who did the same back in 1861. He will also be sworn in using Lincoln's Bible. Follow the ceremony live on most major news channels on Tuesday the 20th. The inauguration is always at noon on the 20th of January (that is since the Roosevelt era). We are seven hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time, so tune in by 7PM here.

Thanks, Tom, for posting these pictures. I wanted to look for them on the internet after seeing this on BBC but had atrocious internet connectivity here in southern Sudan for the last few days. Nice to see a president using the train!
