Model train enthusiasts can be a scary bunch, depending on how [sic] extent to which their fascination strikes them. Having a little train set in a briefcase would make you king of a really nerdy castle, and there are people that are prepared to spend big bucks to achieve just that (which is probably the logic that led to a fashion designer selling a train set).

The Blumenau train set in an aluminum briefcase will cost $1500

Many years ago the Marlklin Mini-club used to have sets small enough that you could pop them in a briefcase, or a pizza box! I recall pics of one that was on a record player. They were beautifully detailed too, and even smaller than N gauge. I dont know if you can still get Mini-club, but back then they cost the equivalent of the GDP of a small country.

As I was saying before the forum timed me out. Mini-club was Z gauge (6.5mm) and it looks like it is still available.
