Weekend cleanup

First Lend-a-hand weekend has passed. Turnout was as expected very poor, but today Nathan, Liesel and myself were down early with some labour to make the big push. The stores were emptied, rubbish and scrap sieved out, and useful into the stores. Koos arrived with his truck and crane, and a large amount of material and tools were moved to Hercules. Another truck arrived in the afternoon and removed all the rubbish and scrap. Some gardening was done and the tree that was threatening to take over the store roof was chopped back. Spikkels, John Makopo, Joseph and Lucas were all there.
A small shed braai was held later and the gang was well fed.
All in all, a tremendous amount of work, done by the few but dedicated crew who set a furious pace. There will be some gardening and cleaning up over the next few days, and we need a party at Hercules in June to repack. Further work can be done on Saturday before the photogala. It will now be possible to host the photographers in a clean and neat environment.
