Virgin Trains photography policy

This (reported in The Railway Magazine, December 2009, p 7) is a breath of fresh air after the problems photographers and enthusiasts have had on many parts of the UK rail network.

Filming and photography at Virgin Trains stations
Virgin Trains welcomes rail enthusiasts and passengers to take still or video images at our stations.
We ask that you do not interfere with the flow of passengers and respect the wishes of both passengers and staff not being photographed.
If you are filming for extended periods and/or using bulky equipment you should make yourself known to our station staff so that the reasons for filming are clear.
Flash photography is not permitted at anytime and the use of tripods should be avoided wherever possible. If you wish to use a tripod you should locate and speak with the Station Team Leader to ensure you are in a safe area.

Merely being an amateur photographer or film-maker shouldn't prevent you from being allowed to give free rein to your talent at stations.
Railway stations and trains serve as a major source of inspiration to amateur photographers or eager rail enthusiasts. SNCF allows the filming and photographing of rail equipment and facilities by the general public. No special papers are required.
