Regular steam excursions from Nairobi to Athi River are scheduled to begin on Sunday 3rd July 2011, with 3020 doing the honours. The trips should take place on the first Sunday of every month, with another Sunday added if demand is high enough. In conjunction with Kenya Wildlife Service, the trips will include a game drive and bush lunch in Nairobi National Park.

Just learned today that this has been postponed until the first Sunday of August 2011. A spectacular launch is planned, with a lot of media coverage, and so far well over 200 passengers are expected.
