Express steam hauling diesel shunter

An interesting photo here, taken 3rd August 1966, showing 70025 Western Star towing D3368 in a freight train. 70025 is very dirty, while the diesel-mechanical shunter (later to be designated class 08) looks bright and new.

Some comment on the uk.railway group suggests that these shunters could be towed dead up to a certain speed without removing the rods. Freight trains in those days, with short wagons and no continuous vacuum brake, were often very slow.
