Rovos Rail's last run on the Garden Route

Post by Eugene Armer »

Rovos Rail has withdrawn their Cape Town - George - Cape Town route. The last run was supposed to be on the weekend of 5/6/7 March, but due to the cancellation of this train, the previous trip on 5/6/7 February was actually the last one. I teamed up with Peter Rogers to do some photting of the return from George (not knowing that it would be the last run) and we got this shot about a half hour after sunrise, the two 35's climbing from Buffelsjagrivier where the train had staged overnight.

Cheers
Eugene

I wish I had seen the train on the line when I was there.
Nice picture.

Is there any particular reason why Rovos withdrawn from running this route, maybe not profitable enough?
