Heritage Photogala Part 1

Post by Chris Janisch »

As a worthy prelude to our 150 year train, FOTR held a heritage photogala at CP on the Saturday before the train. There were fewer takers this time, but those that stayed away missed a fantastic shoot. Only 2650 was in steam, but the weather was good and clear and lighting great. The loco was crewed by Nathan, Dewald and Tony, with Franzois Oosthuizen on general and braai duties, and David Benn providing the night lights. The first fitting of the headboard was done too by Steve Smith and Franzois.

Ever seen an ostrich take fright? This one did when it saw the big steam train approaching!

Glad you used Malcolm Bates. He is a brilliant railway artist.
