Untu plans nationwide protest over unsafe passenger rail service
The United National Transport Union (Untu) is calling its members to support protest action to force President Cyril Ramaphosa to assist with providing a safe and reliable passenger rail service for all.

Untu spokesperson Sonja Carstens said their nationwide protest is set to resume on July 26.

Untu General Secretary Steve Harris said Ramaphosa is gambling with the lives of people. "How can he create a dream of bullet trains from Johannesburg to Musina when the South African Police Service cannot even prevent clamps being stolen that is supposed to be holding the sleepers together on the ailing rail system?” he said...
