Actually all the stations etc were very clean. Even the toilets (which are usually a mess) are passable.

A lot of station now have disabled toilets - this means there are not the normal toilets, but rather large single toilets for use by either sex.

Public toilets in UK have improved considerably overt he last decade or so. They used to be pretty disgusting but are now generally neat and clean, although toilets on stations often close at 8 pm to prevent vandalism, which is a constant problem in UK.

The toilets at Ascot have stainless steel walls!

UK toilets I think are disgusting generally - I am alway astonished at how clean and smart they are here

I agree, Kevin, that South African public toilets are generally very well kept.
